Beta 25 - Diesel engine, rated output 25 hp.
3-cylinder, naturally aspirated diesel engine, 25 hp, maximum speed 3600 rpm, displacement 898 cm3.
The engine is compliant with RCD 2 (Recreational Craft Directive 2013/53/EU) exhaust emission standards, and also complies with EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) Tier III exhaust emission standards.
The Beta 105 engine is built on a durable cast-iron block, which gives the engine true longevity.
The reliability of Beta engines comes from a traditional approach to building durable, work-ready engines. English conservatism is fully evident here: there are no electronic systems of any kind, and the engine itself has a generous power reserve. All Beta engines are fully mechanical. This is especially true of the injection system, which is entirely mechanical, giving it outstanding durability and reliability. All Beta engines rely on a distinctive three-vortex fuel injection system, which reduces fuel consumption and results in smoother engine operation. Beta engines are known for running smoothly across the full power range, particularly at low revs, which makes them quieter and gives them a higher standard of refinement than many more modern solutions.
Every sailor wants a simple engine they can handle themselves in any situation. An engine that always starts, isn't bothered by lower-quality fuel, and, if serviced regularly, will reward you with longevity, reliability, and low fuel consumption.
Beta Marine engines meet strict emission standards, both European and American, so yachts fitted with Beta Marine engines can freely sail in U.S. and Canadian territorial waters.
The Beta engine comes standard with:
- heat exchanger, header tank and water cooled exhaust manifold (keel cooled version also available),
- fresh and sea water pump,
- injection bend for a wet exhaust,
- water cooled exhaust manifold,
- cast exhaust mixing elbow (the homogeneous cast structure extends its service life),
- mechanical fuel lift pump,
- oil, fuel, and air filters,
- special quiet air intake filter,
- oil extraction pump (can also be used to extract oil from the gearbox),
- flywheel housing and drive plate with heavy inertia ring for super smooth running at low rpm,
- R&D flexible coupling,
- mechanical gearbox with a 2:1 reduction ratio,
- heavy duty engine feet and flexible mountings,
- 12V starter motor (24V starter optional),
- 40 Amp, 12 Volt battery charging alternator (can be upgraded or a second alternator added),
- engine shut-off solenoid,
- complete with 'ABV' control panel with tachometer with running hour recorder, keystart switch, push button stop, green light for 'power on', red warning lights and audible alarm for: low oil pressure, high water temperature and engine alternator 'no charge'; 3m interconnection cable with multi pin plug connector.
The engine is finished in Beta red paint and supplied on a wooden shipping pallet. Every buyer receives an engine test certificate and operators manual in Polish, covering both engine servicing and step-by-step installation.
The engine is covered by a 5-year "Self Service" warranty, which allows periodic servicing to be carried out by the owner.
Beta Marine has service centres in practically every seafaring country sailors visit. Beta Marine service centres can be found everywhere: from Iceland to Argentina, from Tahiti through Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the Persian Gulf, and as far as South Africa.
