Special Feet

Beta Marine engines have been fitted into tens of thousands of vessels around the world using our standard engine feet. However engine bearers can vary immensely so when a problem arises, our solution is to offer our unique service of designing and manufacturing “Special Engine Feet” to suit your individual engine bearers. Your new engine just drops onto your existing engine bearers and lines up with your propeller shaft reducing installation complexity, time and labour.

Remote Bulk Head Mounted Oil Filter Kit


Factory fitted and comprising of an engine oil filter sandwich adapter plate, 75cm feed pipe, bulk head mounted filter bracket and 75cm return pipe all connected.

Note: If the feed and return pipe are removed for installation purposes it is essential that they are reconnected correctly to ensure the oil flow circuit is maintained.

Sea Frost Compressor Mount


Comprising of a Sea Frost compressor engine mounting plate, a double crankshaft drive pulley with additional twin A section drives and twin A section drive belts – Sea Frost compressor not included.

Free issued fitting of customers Sea Frost compressor service available, the Sea Frost compressor may be supplied engine mounted or loose, dependent on customers engine packing choice.

Shaft seal cooling

Additional outlet for shaft seal cooling.

Antisiphon


An antisiphon kit must be used to stop cooling water entering the engine if the point where the cooling water is injected into the exhaust is less than 15cm above the waterline when heeling. In this case the valve should be fitted at least 40cm above the waterline.

Optional for all heat exchanger engines.



Fuel Lift Pump


A mechanical fuel lift pump is supplied as standard with all Beta Marine engines. However if a suction head of 0.25m or more is required, then an electric fuel lift pump must be installed in series. Our Electric Fuel Lift Pump is supplied complete with both a pair of brass end compression fittings and a pair of brass fir tree fittings.

Optional for all heat exchanger engines.

Dry Exhaust Silencer & Flexible Exhaust Hose


For keel cooled engines.


Remote Header Tank Kit


Remote mounted coolant header tank expansion kit, complete with tank, mount fittings, 1.5m x 3/4” pipe and clips.

Optional for all heat exchanger engines.

Diesel Fuel Water Separator


Diesel fuel filter water separator complete with brass compression fittings and keyed removable water drain plug.

Supplied loose and should be fitted in all installations.

Recommended to be drained monthly.

Optional for all heat exchanger engines.

Volt Sensitive Relay


Voltage sensitive relay for a 12 volt engine starter battery and domestic battery bank. The relay measures the starter battery voltage and at 13.3 volts (fully charged) opens it contacts to divert the charging voltage from the starter battery to the domestic battery bank. Should the starter battery voltage drop below 12.8 volts the relay will close its contacts to allow the starter battery to be recharged ahead of the domestic battery bank.

Optional for all heat exchanger engines.

PRM Soft Shift

The Beta Marine ‘Soft-shift’ option slows down the gear engagement time which provides a smooth and silent transition between forward, neutral and reverse. Comprises of a specially machined steel plate with two pre-filled hydraulic accumulators that fit between the valve block and the gearbox housing. Key benefits are:

  • No abrupt transmission engagement.
  • Reduced drive-train stress.
  • Reduced noise.

TM345 Trolling Valve

Mounts between the gearbox output flange and propeller shaft coupling. Controlled by a separate lever the multiple clutch plates within have pressurised oil forced between them opening or closing them allowing hydrostatic slippage and the ability to reduce the minimum shaft rotation of 500rpm down to a single rpm.

Especially of benefit when holding station or net fishing.

R&D Flexible Coupling

The R&D coupling consists of a contoured flexible disc moulded in tough yet resilient Polyester Elastomer. The contoured disc gives clearance for bolt heads, and is able to flex freely to take up any temporary misalignment of the engine and shaft, due to flexing of the boat structure or the engine moving on its rubber vibration isolation mountings. Forward thrust is taken in compression on the disc between the two half couplings and reverse thrust is taken again in compression on the disc between the two fail safe straps. In the unlikely event of a disc failure, the steel straps make the coupling fail safe and ensure drive is maintained in both forward and reverse.

A compatible R&D Split Boss Clamp is required to complete the propeller shaft connection.

Is machined from solid steel, the half clamp can accommodate the variations than can occur with normal shaft tolerances with a better fit than a solid coupling. They are easy to install and can be adjusted to the required position on the propeller shaft ensuring alignment with a flexible coupling.

CentaFlex CF-M Coupling

Centraflex_Coupling

Highly flexible coupling for the connection of gear and propeller shaft. Ideal for applications with limited mounting space. Backlash-free transmission of torque and propeller thrust via highly flexible rubber element. Specially designed to reduce noise and vibrations under confined space requirements. Dampens torsional vibrations and shocks, interrupts structure-borne noise and compensates axial, radial and angular misalignments. Additionally offers a high degree of electrical insulation.

Mounted with minimum effort by means of a clamping hub. Delivered with fail-safe device and ready to install.

Type 12 – bored to suit: 1″, 1-1/2″ or 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, 38mm.

CentaFlex AM-30/50 Coupling

The Centaflex-AM30/50 is a highly flexible coupling for the connection of gear and propeller shaft for the reduction of vibration and noise emanating from the boat hull. It enables the backlash-free transmission of torque and propeller thrust using a highly flexible rubber element with a thrust bearing and is specially designed to reduce vibration and noise. The coupling dampens torsional vibrations and shocks, interrupts structure-borne noise and compensates for moderate axial, radial and angular misalignment.

The CentaFlex-AM30/50 coupling is complete, replacing the need for both a R&D flexible coupling and a R&D clamp coupling.

AM-30/50 – bored to suit: 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″, 1-3/4″ or 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, 40mm, 45mm, 50mm.

Optional for Beta 43, 50, 60, 70T, 75, 85T, 90T, 105T & 115T.

Python-Drive

The Python-Drive unit can be easily assembled over the propeller shaft and mounted exactly where required, between the stern tube and the gearbox. Combination with a (double) flexible shaft coupling or alike to be mounted on the end of the shaft is thus throughout possible The propeller thrust is transmitted to the ships hull by means of rubber silent blocks. The unit comes complete with internal clamp coupling, bolts, nuts and rubber silent blocks.

Panel cyfrowy „D” - option

‘Digital’ display – front panel is waterproof to IP65. The display panel switches between the normal engine displays of: engine speed (a tachometer), oil pressure gauge, engine temperature gauge and voltmeter for either one or two alternators. It is also possible to plug-in another electronic display for viewing elsewhere; that could be the wheelhouse.

Flybridge Control - option

Comprises of a C Deluxe panel with 3m of interconnection cable with multi pin plug and either a standard ABV panel or chosen optional panel complete with 6m of interconnection cable and multi pin plug connector for the Flybridge.

Control Panel ‘C/CW’ Deluxe – NMEA 2000 Module

Beta Marine & Actisense have developed an interconnection module to facilitate an interface that will connect a Beta Marine C or CW engine control panel with an NMEA 2000 network. This module simply “T” connects between an engine and engine control panel & converts information to a NMEA 2000 network friendly format. Which enables you to digitally monitor engine RPM, engine temperature, oil pressure or voltmeter readings from your NMEA 2000 control/display panel.
