Throughout our 30-year history, we have had the opportunity to cooperate with thousands of clients, delivering propulsion engines for a wide range of vessels, from canal barges, passenger ferries, transport units, fast patrol boats, fishing trawlers, push boats, to sailing yachts. We work closely with you from the initial quotation, through the verification of the electrical installation design, designing special solutions for the engines, to supervising the installation or even the installation of the engine on the vessel.
We continually build and expand our experience, which we implement into production and use during the service care of our engines. This increases our flexibility in selecting and adapting our solutions to the users' needs. As a result, many of our products are dedicated solutions, considering numerous non-standard options and components.
Years of developing marine engines have made it possible for us to not only build standard units but also highly specialized propulsion engines, equipped with many non-standard solutions.
All our standard and customized products are designed with the utmost attention to structural and functional details using advanced CAD systems.
All our operations are carried out based on the ISO 9001 quality management system, supervised by a world-class auditor.
Beta 10 – Beta 115 engines are based on technologically advanced Kubota drive units, characterized by smooth, quiet operation, high torque available at low speeds, and maximum power typically available at medium speeds. Kubota engines are known for their durability and reliability. The Beta 10 – Beta 105 engines meet the emission requirements of the RDC-2 directive (Recreational Craft Directive 2013/53/EU). The Beta 10 – Beta 85T engines (except Beta 45T and Beta 70) meet the emission requirements of the EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency).

2, 3, and 4-cylinder engines are equipped with an inertia ring on the flywheel and a marine clutch plate, ensuring smooth power transmission. This flywheel design, along with the clutch specially designed for marine engines, effectively dampens vibrations.
The camshaft is driven by a gear, which enhances reliability and reduces the need for maintenance, as there is no timing chain or belts (whether V-belts or toothed belts) that would need to be replaced. There is no electronics involved, which is one of the most common causes of issues in modern engines.
The engine is equipped with glow plugs to assist starting below 5°C, a fuel filter, a MECHANICAL fuel pump, a MECHANICAL injection pump, and MECHANICALLY adjustable valve timing, which ensures reliable operation and starting under any weather conditions.
Beta engines can be installed at a fixed angle of 15° C, and even when the vessel experiences heavy rolling, they can be installed at an angle of up to 25°. (Installation at angles above 15° is only allowed with approval from Diesel Air or Beta Marine).
Beta engines 10, 14, 16, 20, and 25 are equipped with a standard 40A alternator. Beta engines 30 – Beta 105 come with a standard 70A alternator. All alternators are driven by a V-belt and reach full power at the vessel’s cruising speed.
Upon request, we offer optional or additional alternators driven by either V-belts or multi-ribbed belts.
Optional special mounts are available, making it easier to install the engine on an existing foundation. We offer 3D computer modeling to assist in designing the engine for existing foundations.
Engines can be equipped with shaft reduction gears, low-axis, angle gears, and V-gears. The forward rotation direction is clockwise when looking at the gear from the rear.
All engines come standard with a heat exchanger made of copper-nickel tubes, resistant to seawater. Most units are naturally aspirated. The exceptions are the Beta 45T, 75T, 85T, 95T, 105T, and 115T, which are turbocharged.
Beta engines 10, 14, 16, 20, 25, 30, 35, 38, 43, 50, 60, and 75 feature a three-phase combustion system and indirect injection, which guarantees quiet operation, low emissions, and low fuel consumption.
Beta engines 45T, 70T, 85T, 90T, and 105T are equipped with the ICVS combustion system, which ensures quiet operation, low emissions, and low fuel consumption.
